How to Prepare the Guest Room for the Holidays

Posted on Dec 20, 2011 by in Cleaning Advice | 0 comments

Did you know that every year almost one-third of the population of each country travels for Christmas? And this means that almost one-third of the population of each country expects guests during this time of the year. So, let’s see how we can help you prepare for your guests easier than ever.

As a start, you can remove the dust collected all over the room. Most guest rooms are not used during the year and they get really dirty. Start from the top and work down to the bottom. Clean the drapes and the blinds if there are any. Then continue with floor cleaning. There are probably a lot of dust and dirt collected on the carpet.

Your next step will be to create the comfort which every guest needs. You can do that, if you change the bed sheets with clean ones. You can also label the remote controls. Sometimes it is really hard to find out which one is for the air conditioner and which one is for the TV. Another thing to do is to put tissues on the night table and do not forget to leave extra blankets in the room in case your guests get cold in the night.

And finally you have to make sure that the room smells nice. Open the windows the day before their arrival and let some fresh air to get in. You can use different sprays to refresh the drapes and the towels. Before you start floor cleaning, you can sprinkle baking soda which is great odour removal.
